Alexey Pekarin is an Australian-based Latin DJ known as Papi Ruso. Alexey has been DJing electronic music since the ’90s. in 2015 he started dancing street Latin and that brought him to Latin dance and music culture he now plays Salsa, Bachata, Zouk, Kizomba, Reggaeton, and Cha cha cha. He has also produced many bachata remixes for performing artists and dance companies as well as for public use at social dancing events around the world. He is DJing at international festivals, congresses, and events such as Sydney Internationa Bachata Festival, Singapore Latin Extravaganza, Hong Kong Bachata Festival, Vietnam Latin Experience, Byron Bay Latin Fiesta, and Melbourne Latin Festival.
He is a resident DJ at ‘Bachata Corazon’ Melbourne where he plays on a weekly basis for over 500 regulars and plays on average 4 nights a week to an audience of over 2000 people. Alexey is also a dancer and an instructor and a current Australian Bachata Champion.
